Memorial Weekend - May 27 & 28, 2005

Memorial Weekend Activities

Friday, May 27, 2005 - Free Concert by the Marine Corps Band from Twenty-nine Palms.
7:30 pm - Pacific Auditorium (Reedsport High School)

The concert is free to the public - but seating is limited to 640. Please contact the Chamber office for tickets to the show. 541-271-3495

At 5 pm the Chamber and Reedsport Rotary will be sponsoring a BBQ to help defray the costs of bringing the Marine Corp Band to Reedsport. Cost is $5/person.

There is also an Adopt a Marine program for those who are interested in helping to pay the costs of bringing the band to our community. Contact the Chamber Office for more details. 541-271-3495

The Green Beret Parachute Team begins the Memorial Day Ceremonies by landing at Hahn Park.

Flag-Raising Ceremony at Hahn Park in Reedsport - May 28, 2005

A special thanks to the Friends of Bobby Unger for providing our community with a new 20' by 30' flag, to be flown on the 80-foot tall flag pole.

Recognition of the Fallen:

  • The bell will toll six times to recognize the fallen of WWI
  • The Bell will toll thirteen times to recognize the fallen of WWII
  • The Bell will toll once to recognize the fallen of the Korean War
  • The Bell will toll three times to recognize the fallen of the Viet Nam War
  • The Bell will toll the special New York call Firemen return to station, which is three sets of five tolls.

Our Office is located in the Oregon Dunes NRA Building at the junction of Highways 101 & 38

Visitor Center hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
From June 1st through September 1st we are also open Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Our foyer is open 24 hours and is stocked with brochures, information and maps.
